KTA 5: Researching information: locations for filming music TV programmes and music TV news programmes'

 Primary methods:  Interviewing a producer of a music TV show (Shelia Nevins) .  advantage: you can ask questions disadvantage: opinion's will be biased, hard to access Textual analysis of a studio. advantage: it is your own research disadvantage: time consuming Survey about contents of a studio (survey monkey): advantage: cheap, easy to access disadvantage: you don't know if you are sending it to the right people or if what they are telling you is true. Secondary methods: Books about different parts of a studio (rockschool music productions). advantage: written professional  disadvantage: expensive News article about a studio and different locations where a tv music video would be filmed (MTV News) advantage: existing TV channel disadvantage: show a limited perspective Social media (twitter - demi lovato) advantage: accessible disadvantage: not ethical, biased Some clips of locations which i have researched for secondary research that are shown on a music television...

Task 3 - How does mise-en-scene elements reflect the interests and needs of the audience

 Colour: pinks and purples show the target audience is aimed towards young girls. Cast: Chris Hughes attracts males as well as a role model for a male audience. Props: modern mobile phones are used which shows its aimed towards a young audience as they know that younger people have the latest technology. Costume/makeup: body glitter is sued in the sponsor of Pizza Hut  which attracts the female audience as the aspire tp be like the models in the videos. Location: Disney land is shown in the video as it attracts the younger audience as Disney is a cartoon programme.  Iconography: they use polaroid images to target a younger audience.
