Camera conventions in the trailer of Scream:

Some shot types which where used in the first trailer of scream is medium and long shot; this is shown when all the teenagers are at the party and they are all stud up drinking and dancing. By doing this it shows the audience the atmosphere of the scene and helps add to the story line of the series. A close up was also used in the pool when the body got thrown into the pool. The close up of the mans face shows detail of the face e.g the blood on his face, as well as showing the emotion of the dead body and exaggerates his facial expressions which is in the pool with the girl. A camera angle which was used in Scream was a low, dutch angle on the character Scream. this shows that this character look strong, powerful and undefeatable. by using this shot it shows something bad is going too happen and leaves the audience uneasy and questioning what is going to happen. A high angle shot was used on the girl in the film. this portrays that she is weak and defenceless, which could make the audience question why she is shown in this way and what might happen to her. In the trailer, a transition which was used a lot to show the different scenes in the clip was a dissolve. This is used through non-continuity editing as it is clear to an audience that it has been cut to show the different clips, which will put the audience questioning and wondering why the different scenes are cut so fast in the trailer.
